History of the House

A Rooted History, A Place in Motion

The story of Maison Trinitaire began in 1959, inspired by the vision of Father Pierre St-Pierre, who dreamed of creating a Trinitarian place in Granby dedicated to liberation, renewal, and community life.

After more than seven years of prayer, meetings, and commitment, the House was solemnly blessed on October 4, 1959, by Bishop Arthur Douville. Faithful to the charism of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives, it was first dedicated to the liberating Trinity, formation, parish life, and welcoming those seeking spiritual renewal.

In the 1970s, the arrival of Father Jean-Paul Regimbal brought new momentum to the House through the Charismatic Renewal movement. This spiritual movement deeply impacted the Trinitarian community, the region, the province, and even internationally.

In 2004, driven by the desire to prepare for the future and involve laypeople more actively, the community created the Jean-Paul-Regimbal Fund. This entity was entrusted with overseeing the management, development, and long-term sustainability of the House.

2025–2026: A Time of Transformation

Faithful to its heritage while firmly looking toward the future, Maison Trinitaire is entering a new phase of evolution in 2025 and 2026.

These years will bring significant reflection and adjustments, both in its structure and governance, with a constant focus on improvement, coherence, and sustainability.

The year 2026 will also mark a renewal of the Maison’s brand identity — an initiative designed to better reflect its mission, vision, and values while affirming its identity for current and future generations.

An Open Door for Today

Attentive to contemporary realities, Maison Trinitaire continues to embrace a broad openness to spirituality and personal growth.

It welcomes and supports people searching for meaning, wherever they may be in their journey, regardless of their beliefs or background. Inspired by the deep conviction that every human being carries infinite dignity, the Maison chooses to see with the heart — in a spirit of welcome, respect, and fellowship.

Today, Maison Trinitaire is a living place.
A space where people can slow down, pause, reflect, and continue their journey with greater clarity.
